As an AMI Recognized and Accredited Montessori School, we are dedicated to providing the highest standard of authentic Montessori education set out by AMI (Association Montessori Internationale), founded by Dr. Maria Montessori.

In keeping with these high standards, our mission is to provide an inspiring learning environment that embraces the uniqueness of each child, promotes independence, develops respect and social responsibility, and emphasizes acceptance. The principles of our Children’s House program rest on the premise that young children develop optimally when they are placed in an environment that supports their natural development and respects the unique pace and rhythm by which they learn. Activities that foster independence, concentration and cooperation, develop all aspects of their life: their minds, their bodies and their spirits.

Our nurturing school environment offers each child, aged 2.5 years to 6 years, opportunities to self-construct; socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually, and to develop an intrinsic love of learning through active exploration, freedom of choice and independent learning.

A genuine Montessori education is successful because it follows and responds to the individual needs of each developing child.

Maria Montessori’s belief and resulting philosophy was that the best person to teach the individual child is the child themselves. Consequently, within the class, the Directress (teacher) is a friendly helper, ready to offer guidance, support and encouragement. Because the class is not teacher-centered, guidance takes place on a one-to-one basis, in very small groups, and is related to the child’s own stage of development and readiness.

Our unique Gardening Program and beautiful outdoor learning environment connect the children with the natural world. We seek to educate our students about ecological responsibility and create an awareness of the interconnectedness of all life.

As parents, we all strive to have thoughtful and kind children who are happy, and have strong self-esteem and the confidence to solve problems.

Queensville Montessori Academy provides a nurturing learning environment for your child to absorb these positive attributes.

“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.”
~ Dr. Maria Montessori
